This is a very specific tool that have been designed to be used to get rid of, and in the case of avast! Antivirus Free and Professional, or avast! Internet Security. When you have indicated that you want to remove a program, it stands to reason that you would prefer that no traces of it were left behind, and this is something that Avast Clear (Uninstall Utility) can help you with. There are occasions when an uninstaller files for one reason or another, and this could mean that software you do not want is left untouched on your hard drive, or that remnants of it are left behind.

In most cases you will find that this gets rid of the program in question in its entirety, but this is not necessarily the case. They have been on the computer for "several" years. If you have decided that you no longer want to use a particular program, you may well head to the Control Panel or the Start menu and run through the installer. These only show up doing a boot scan with Avast and don't give me the option to remove. I then ran a boot scan with Avast that showed nothing new, just 3 very old messages that I have gotten for years (I didn't know how to locate and delete) The other 2 I don't have written down, but also corrupted archive - I believe it was Microsoft\feed\feedstore something. I ran a scan with Malwarebytes (no threats detected). I ran a full virus scan with Avast (free version) that turned up nothing.

I looked in This PC>Downloads folder and Firefox was not there. I shut down and restarted, but still no link for firefox. Unable to browse internet except for internet explorer which still works. On 6-3-2021 when I turned on computer, I noticed the shortcut pinned to task bar for firefox was missing. I was having no known issues when I shut my computer (windows 8.1) down on 6-2-21. I do not know if I am having a virus/malware issue, or something else.
